Farhan Akhtar was born to the well celebrated lyricist of the Bollywood industry, Javed Akhtar. He studied in Maneckji Cooper School and later joined H.R College but left his graduation in second year to concentrate on his career. His family is all rooted in the Bollywood Industry. His step mother Shabana Azmi is an actress, his cousin Farah Khan is a leading choreographer and director and his sister, Zoya Khan is about to make her debut with the movie ‘Luck by Chance’. Farhan Akhtar is married to famous hair stylist Adhuna Akhtar and is a father of two children. He started his career at the age of seventeen when worked with many big directors and producers. As an independent director he made his debut with the movie ‘Dil Chahta hai’. It was a fierce time when he entered the industry but then his talent and firm determination opened many big opportunities for him to grow further in his career. He was amazed to receive the awesome response of the audiences especially from the youth as the story line was targeted to cover the young generation. He listed his name in the leading directors of the Industry and received his first National Film Award for this movie. Farhan Akhtar then came up with his next production ‘Lakshya’ that did not work much for the spectators but he was appreciated by the critics. In the meanwhile, he worked as a lyrics writer for the movie ‘Bride and Prejudice’. He then decided to enter the floors with the re make of ‘Don’ that has Amitabh Bachchan in it. He casted Shahrukh for this movie and his production did wonders on the Box office. Farhan Akhtar is also associated with some hit movies like ‘Honeymoon travles pvt. Ltd.’ and ‘Rock On’. He has also acted in a number of movies like “Rock on’ and ‘Fakir of Venice’. He as a play back singer voiced for a number of tracks in his recent production ‘Rock On’ and has knocked on another stream of his Bollywood career. Farhan Akhtar picked up the best director and best screenplay awards for his productions.
