Anand Milind is the famous composer and music director duo of the Bollywood music Industry. They siblings are the sons of the great music director Chitragupt, whose career was at it peaks during 60’s. He composed music for the movie ‘Bada Admi’, ‘Zabak’, and ‘Aplam Chaplam’. Their father knew that his sons had musical germs and wanted them to get engaged in a musical career. He gave them training of Indian western classical music. Anand was a guitarist whereas Milind was a piano enthusiast.
Anand Milind practised with their father for a period of eight years and learnt all the technicalities of Indian classical music. The duo made its debut with the movie ‘Ab aayega Mazaa’ in the year 1988 but the music failed to display the real talent of these up coming composers. They came into limelight with their work in the movie ‘Qayamat se qayamat tak’. The music received an awesome opening and popularised Anand Milind as an established composers. They received a film fare award for their amazing compositions in this movie that include ‘Aey mere humsafar’, ‘Akele hai to kya gam hai’, and ‘Papa kehte hain’.. From then onwards they never looked back and got many big breaks.
Anand Milind worked for many big banner movies such as ‘Beta’, ‘Baaghi’ and ‘Bol radha bol’. With every success they recorded, their music and fame touched new heights and they stood among the leading music directors of the industry.
Like many other composers Anand Milind were also accused of plagiarising the music of many southern music directors including the names of Ilayaraja and A.R Rehman. They also lend a helping hand in successfully launching the acting career of many leading Bollywood stars like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Nahma and Karishma Kapoor. Their music proved to be a fresh air breeze for the generation and is still as tempting as they were in the 90’s.
