The Slumdog Millionaire is an epitome of enormous international success and needs no introduction. This Danny Boyle's production is based on the popular novel Q & A, written by Vikas Swarup. The movie is a significant and an out of box work and has matched the expectations of the viewers. The music of the movie has been delivered by the great music maestro, A.R Rehman. The fact cannot be denied that the musical album is one of the finest works of this legendary composer as it has a perfect blend of various moods, sounds and genres, which helped the movie, mark its presence worldwide. The musical album comprises of 13 melodious songs that possess the power and magic to captivate the music enthusiasts. Starting with the introductory track ‘O….Saaya’ is a magnificent work of this international star. The song has an electrifying sound accompanied by the commendable singing style of A.R. Rehman and UK based pop singer, M.I.A. I would definitely recommend the download of this track as by playing it loud you can tap your feet to its rousing tunes. Next in the list is Jai Ho sung by A.R. Rehman. The song also features Sukhwinder Singh, Tanvi Shah, Mahalakshmi Iyer. The song was highly appreciated by the listeners and was also privileged to be nominated as the best original song in the Satellite Awards International Press Academy 2008. The song is endowed with beautiful lyrics written by the lyrics intellect, Gulzar. In addition to the list comes the title track ‘Millionaire’ which is the only conventional song of the movie. It is an energetic and lively song and is worth downloading. Though the other songs of the movie also performed well but these three songs fetched enormous popularity and appreciation for the movie. The musical album by A.R. Rehman took the movie to great heights and brought him international admiration.
